red eye lamp on T2i

This claims to have an "enable / disable" setting under menu, but when I "disable" it, it still flashes. I would like to be able to switch this off, so that there is no light flash at all from the camera when the picture is taken (my subject is averse to flashing lights). Is there a way to do this?

Note: I am using a wireless remote and I see that the lamp is described as a "red eye reduction/self timer" lamp. Is it still flashing because I am self-timing. And is there a way to make it quit?

I don't think that there is any way to disable the self-timer lamp in camera menus...How about just putting a piece of black tape over it?...May leave a sticky residue though.

Have you tried setting CnF 7 ?

I dont think you can turn off the red light when self timing. The easy way around it is to get the wireless remote control and to take the picture with the two second delay switch enabled on the remote.
