I was itching to turn it around, to help avoid a collision with a log or a rock but he was having a good time with the birds and I didn't want to ruin it.

He managed the lens hood this time. Back story on this, Cameron is diabetic, he hates to go outdoors but seems to be more willing to go for a good walk with a camera in his hands. He started out the walk at about 250 mg/l and ended up at about 80 by the time we were done. 80 being normal for most of us.

Great photograph and great story! I love it when I see the younger generation developing an enjoyment for photography and I'm so happy that is has turned into a healthy outlet for your son.

Simply wonderful.

Diabetes is not a fun disease and it's bad news to see it in someone so young, hopefully it can be brought under reasonable control.
It is great to see that he is starting to find an interest that will get him out and about. This will build his confidence and help him lead a more normal life in the future.
Encouraging Cameron to broaden his horizons is probably one of the best things that you can do for him - he will be better for it and you will help him reap the rewards - that's what Dads are for!
You might loose most of you gear to him though!
All the best to you both.

Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).
