Very good effect! Looks like a painting by Rembrandt.

BTW: Are you Bluebeard? Else I'd clone out that blue reflection :-D

I really hate having my picture taken, especially since I've been using the chair, and being the one usually with the camera in hand I'm quite good at avoiding photos. I have just started helping out a local Veterans Mental Health charity, The Walnut Tree Project (external link), based at the Britannia Veterans Center in Norwich Norfolk, as the photographer/graphics design guy. As such I ended up having to give the main man my camera so that he could grab a shot of me for the official notification posts on Social Media. The first shot is typical of what he shot, the second was the only shot where he didn't clip a bit of me off, and there was enough room to rotate it upright and correct the converging verticals. I suppose that I should have got my spare body out to use as a prop in the shot.

Alan,

That is cool that you're helping out the Veteran's charity! Good stuff pointing out what it is like when you give the camera to somebody else to take a picture. Our "photographer's eye" quickly points out the things that could be improved upon!

Thanks for sharing the story and pic,
Bryan

Helping them out seemed like a good idea, as I have benefited from their help myself. I have to say that on the whole I did enjoy my nine years in the Royal Air Force. Living in a (five?) star hotel on a detachment is probably much better than the other services get ;). Not that I ever got deployed to a war zone thank god, I was in the right trade specialisation for that. The wheelchair is a result of an injury that I suffered to my lower spine during my technical trade training. At least it took over twenty years to get to the point of needing the wheelchair, it could have been a lot worse since I didn't fracture it.
