yeah it's rare that I don't have a lens hood on backwards inside the bag (the 35A and 24-85/2.8-4.0 are probably about the only ones in my bag as they aren't huge with their hoods on properly) but as soon as the lens comes out and onto a camera the hood is positioned the way the designer intended it to be mounted.

No, it's a Nikon lens with a rain-cover. 400mm f/2.8 should you ask - I WANT a Canon one now!
