my friend shoots football with me but hes been doing weddings and senior pictures and the like for about 35yrs. he went out on his own maybe 20 years ago and he makes a good living and is happy doing this. his wife couldnt help him this weekend and the bride wanted a 2nd shooter. ive NEVER been a primary for a wedding because a) i dont have imagination to set up things other than the standard group shot b) i suck c) theres already 9 photographers per person in my town of 33k. mostly B though. well, anyway i did 2nd shooter saturday and captured him doing what he prefers (weddings and portraits).

ive yet to see anyone's images where they used a diffuser "cap" on their flash and then bounced it. hes been in this business a long time though so it must do something for him, if even just in his mind. ill bounce but with the slide out plastic card on my Canon speedlites. i guess we get similar results and his is probably a little less susceptible to getting broken in the crowd of a wedding.
