Who cares what it looks like. You don't buy a camera like this for it's aesthetics. You buy it for it's utility. At least I did. :-)

This is the first time I've noticed the difference. It is interestingly different. They changed the battery as well, right?

The top change is so the internal GPS can function.

The battery is new and has about 10% more power yeah. The old batteries are still compatible but they drop the maximum fps down to 12. Not a bad compromise really.

In real world use the batteries last a long, long time. Well over the rated amount of shots you are supposed to be able to get with each charge.

I find the battery life on my 1D4 impressive, even with the original battery. Can't go wrong with the 1 series.

I would not worry about it. Some people could win a million bucks and complain it was not two. As long as you like it.....I say, congrats on the camera and photo
