Still a little light headed from this purchase. Biggest one to date.

It's the Sony NEX FS-700. Go youtube/google the camera!

Interesting...are the primes not weather sealed?? On the zooms you can't see the chrome ring of the mount, because the rubber ring is in the way, but on the primes, there they are, shining!

i think only the 50L is weather sealed:D

The 35, 85, and 135 are not weather sealed. Below 200mm, the 14L II, 24L II and 50L are weather sealed.

The port is for future updates if they are released so that the adapter can work with certain lenses or different kinds of IS systems etc. Check out www.metabones.com (external link).

Thanks guys :) I keep forgetting that they don't seal a lot of their L primes...you'd think it wouldn't be much work..

Inherited this years ago when my grandpa passed. I never thought twice about it. Now I'm curious to learn more and if it would still work.

Maaaaaan why couldn't I have inherited something like this!?

The Yashica Mat's are great cameras. Gonna be ordering one from keh.com (or a similar TLR) soon.

Lots of info on them on the web. photo.net and apug.org have dedicated forums to medium format film. Bunch of videos on youtube as well.

Like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVwBsapX_Z0 (external link) an overview

Thanks. I watched that video earlier. This is essentially how I've spent my morning...researching and trying to figure out if it will work.Things are all mechanical and the shutter works pretty flawlessly. The viewing windows with the settings are pretty dusty so I could barely so f-stop and ss. Deciding if I have the means to experiment with it.

i'm not going to win any awards with the results but i'm completely new at this. my hideous rig is based on ideas from the Macro Rig thread and i had *a lot* of fun putting it together for next to nothing.
