Man , I'd be scared to death it would fall off! I've used my GoPro for that, but I'd be afraid to use my DSLR. My luck a bird, dog or something would fly by and hit it! I would be cool to see some of the vids tho!

Gear is insured, I'm not too worried about it. Gopros are nice but having the ability to control the FOV, Exposure and focus is better.
