I was down a Silver mine in South America. It was all good until we started blowing up dynamite...

I am scared of accidentally bumping my 40D let alone letting that happen to a 5D MkIII with L lens?!!

Haha, I used to be like that. Same with Apple products. Then I realised that I was actually missing potentially good shots just for the sake of not getting my camera dirty. It actually cleaned up pretty nicely and if I did a proper deep clean, you wouldn't be able to tell at all.

Pro grade gear is meant to handle these kinds of situations. I used to be tender with my gear also, but now not so much. Still take car of it, but the only purpose of a camera is to get the job done!

Well fair play to you, it is pretty amazing just how rugged these things are despite being so delicate on the inside also. I don't think I could do what you did. :D

Lol I did pretty much this same thing except I upgraded from an XTi to a 50D all I have to say is WOW what a huge difference. I can now see why all you pros and higher end enthusiasts really dig the control wheel on the back of the xxD and the xD series bodies. Everything about this camera makes my photography better and easier. For me the biggest :):) where being able to get clean shots of my kid at 2500-3200 and even with stopping my lenses down to make sure they are ultra sharp it still keeps shutter speed high enough to freeze action.

Body:50D gripped Magic Lantern'd
Lenses:50mm 1.8,40mm 2.8,28-105 USM II,70-210 F4, 1962 Asahi Pentax Super Takumar 55mm 1.8
Flash: Canon 430 EX
The camera is just a tool - it is not responsible for the picture.
