Mamiya RB67 Pro-SD
Great camera. Had one for years and, like an idiot, sold it. Still regretting selling. Oh well.

It took me a while to safe money and buy those lenses :P I don't want any scratches on the front elements. Sometimes I shoot at parties and have my gear hanging with a sun sniper strap, and a lot of people bump into my camera when they pass by.

Sometimes I shoot at parties and have my gear hanging with a sun sniper strap, and a lot of people bump into my camera when they pass by. Does it actually make that much of a difference? I don't like to spend the money on fixxing up the scratches on my lensen, I'd rather spent it on my future 6D :P I try to keep the clear shield on all of the lenses at all times. Stupid story on the shields. I went to my sons pre-k graduation and was snapping away like I had no tomorrow, and while examining the pics I saw that they were all dark and funny looking. Even though I had ample light and using a flash with the indoor poor fluorescent lighting. I stopped for a moment while the principal was giving a little talk to the children to find out that I had place the UV shield on the lens and was shooting with it on the entire time. I just totally forgot it was on there from a previous shoot. 1D X MII

Insurance is way better than a worthless UV filter, it's also cheaper than the higher end ones. - Alex Corona Sony A7, Canon 7DM2/EOS M, Mamiya 645/67

But depending on the quality of the surface coating (anti-reflective treatment) it may create other quality issues. You might lose contrast in the photo if shooting towards a strong light - reflections because of the filter may black objects become gray. The light sources may no longer be small and well defined - they smear out. In some situations, you might get the text on the front of the lens to reflect in the filter. If you instead of a UV filter have a polarizer, then that will eat light. It was the darker lens that I had on the camera, not the UV it drove me nuts the first few pictures taken when I knew I had sufficient light to take a few at least half decent shots. But when I saw them not really dark but rather shaded is the correct word. 1D X MII
