Nice candid shot:). What is that in the hot shoe mount?

Looks like a gun sight (red dot in the middle of the view sight) on a weaver mount adapted for hotshoe.

Rick, nice two gun set up you carry. See you were out in my part of town, we enjoy shooting the rocks but tried shooting there with a model. Looking forward to seeing your final results.

QUOTED IMAGE

How did you find the quality of that Pixel BG-E6? Did you bought it recently?

I had one once for my 5D2, but the shutter button was so soft I couldn't feel the half click.

The grip is Vello. To me, it's superior design than even Canon's, because the battery door is on the side, and not in the back. Since then, Canon has fixed their battery grip design and ripped off Nikon by making the door on the side. Weight is good, and so is the finish.

The buttons on the other hand suck. It feels too stiff. I use back button focusing, so half click of the shutter is disabled. In terms of functionality, it's fine. I bought it for $69 at B&H in New York. I would still take this over Canon's as the clips that hold the door breaks easily.

Ripped off Nikon? That is strong words used - can you also supply proof it is so?

Rememeber that BG-E6 is a quite recent battery grip - the older BG-E3 for my 350D have the battery door on the side.
