You got it, AND amazingly, it isn't the typical full moon pic everyone tries at least once on their life. Kudos!

I've been trying to get a shot like this for a while....just couldn't make it happen. (I do have a tripod, but no remote). Maybe I should try the timer???

What are the specs of the photo..which camera, f-stop, iso, etc., etc.

Very good for sure! I've captured the half moon but the full moon escapes me. It's either too bright or out of focus but I'll keep trying.

Yea I had that same problem the other night when there was a full moon.
I used my Tamron 70-300 and I used manual focus. I want all the way to the right of focus and it wouldnt get it. If it was able to turn like 1 or 2mm more it woulda got in focus. I couldnt figure out why. can anyone explain that to me

Pretty kool :)

What lens did you use? I took a photo of the moon a little while ago ( when it was full :rolleyes: :lol: ) and the 100% crop from my 200mm lens looks about the same size as this.

Sorry about leaving out Spec!

Rebel XT
Sigma 70-300 @ 300mm
1/350 @ 6.7 ISO 400
Image Quality = fine
WB = Auto

Definately on a tripod. Since I didn't know what I was doing , I just took about 70 photos with various settings, a few came out nice.

Thanks. Digital is great!

I've lost count of the number of moon shots I've tried with the 70-300 Sigma. Very difficult to get right. I've never done one this good. well done

nice shot, I have just been trying and they come out blured and over exposed, I'll have a try with your settings later on. I notice you used functions 2 and 6, do they make a noteible difference?

What's the deal with focus? I use manual focus and get the image dead sharp in the viewfinder, I'm starting to think I need glasses or something!?!?!?!?
