When I'm looking at some threads from people after a bit of advice about their photo's some of the members appear to have access to Exif data that is not submitted by the thread author and is not available through <right Click-Properties>

Am I being stupid or is this a "Web browser" software matter or something similar ?

I'm new to DSLR photography and like to gather as much info on techniques and settings as I can.

Exif information contains all of your shooting details. You can access this from pretty much any photo editing program. I personally use Breezebrowser Pro for this. You can learn alot from studying this information. I'm attaching an example

Thanks for the reply :)

I'm aware of how I obtain Exif Data for my own work on my PC, I didn't realise until now that If I save someone elses shot onto my hard drive I can obtain Exif data that was not available by simply using the <right-click,Properties> option.

Thanks again !!

I use Opanda -- it's a free browser plug in that you can get here: http://www.opanda.com/en/ (external link)

Pfft...yeah. I tried that Opanda. Each and every image I try it on, it says "no exif data on this image".

If there's no embedded EXIF data, you'll get the "No Exif information on the image" dialog. However, if the image contains embedded EXIF data, the dialog will have it.

I can't get it to work either. I've right-clicked about about 30 images so far and get the unable to find on all of them.

If the image reduce w/ save for web in PS the exif data is stripped so you won't be able to view the exif data.

"Unable to find Operand IExif data" Still isn't working. I guess Firefox doesn't like it.

Make sure you download the version that's made for Firefox. Looks like there is one specifically for it.

I uninstalled and reinstalled. I think I finally got it working. The problem was that the image posted in this thread does NOT have Exif data. I found one that did in another thread, and it works.

Not according to the message I receive: "This image contains no Exif data."

I got "exif" for it, but no camera settings. Just tells that you used pse2, and the dimensions of the shot.
