There is a little program called "view exif" that works on IE, and I believe not comes in a Firefox version.
I use an extension in firefox called "FxIF" which works very well.

So long and thanks for all the flash

I got "exif" for it, but no camera settings. Just tells that you used pse2, and the dimensions of the shot.

There's no camera settings because the 4 shots are from different cameras and using different settings combined into one pic using pse2.

I finally got Opanda working. I sure wish more people would include Exif data, either embedded or in their post. Of course, I'm sure I didn't know enough to include it when I first started posting.

Bummer, it's not working for me either. Tried FxIF too and all it gives me is the image date: "Image Date: 2005:10:01 17:29:40"

That may be because posters allowed EXIF to be stripped during processing. Nothing we can do about that, I'm afraid.

I use Downloader Pro and Breezebrowser Pro. For minor touch-ups, Irfanview does a good job.

if one knows a bit of Perl, maintaining Exif data in bunch of JPEG files is easy. here's script I use to add copyright notice to my photos. ofcourse some ready GUI program is easier to get along, but it might not fit all the needs.

the script:

use File::List;
use Image::ExifTool;

if ((! $ARGV[0]) || (! $ARGV[1])) {
die "argv1 = directory, argv2 = license year\n";
}

if ((! -d $ARGV[0]) || (length($ARGV[1]) != 4)) {
die "Invalid input\n";
}

my $search = new File::List($ARGV[0]);
my $exifTool = new Image::ExifTool;
my $copyrightOwner = "jarski";
my $copyrightUrl = "http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/2.0";
my $copyrightFull = $copyrightOwner . " (" . $ARGV[1] . ") " . $copyrightUrl;

$exifTool->Options(Unknown => 1);
$exifTool->Options(Group0 => ['EXIF']);
$search->show_empty_dirs();
@files = @{ $search->find("\.[jJ|pP|gG]\$") };
foreach $i (@files) {
$exifTool->ImageInfo($i);
$copyright = $exifTool->GetValue('Copyright');

if (! $copyright) {
print "Rewriting: " . $i . "\n";
$new_i = "$i.aaa";
$exifTool->SetNewValue('Copyright', $copyrightFull);
$success = $exifTool->WriteInfo($i, $new_i);
if ($success) {
rename ($new_i,$i);
} else {
print "Error processing: " . $i . "\n";
}
}
}

usage:
sudo perl ~/exif.pl /Library/WebServer/Documents/albums/2004 2004

I've noticed a lot of photos that say "no exif data available'' when using Opanda actually DO have exif data attached. Downloading and viewing these photos in PS or PS Elements 4 will verify this.

If the poster uploaded the picture to the board as an attachment, the vBulletin software that handles this masks the actual JPG from OPANDA. When you actually download the picture, you can see the EXIF in the JPEG, but OPANDA just sees the script that's being used to present the picture, and that doesn't have any EXIF data.
