So this one is a new one for me with regard to posing. I am doing a shoot for two siblings, a brother and sister, in their early 20s. They are doing the pics as a birthday surprise for their parents. Obviously I will shoot some of each of them individually.

My question is about posing them together. I have shot kid siblings together many times, and I have shot adult couples together many times. But, the poses I would use in both those situations obviously won't be appropriate here. Yet, I still want some poses that convey the appropriate sense of connection, rather than just having two people posed side by side, since they are siblings.

If anyone has any thoughts on this, or can point me to some examples, I would really appreciate it.

Sorry if I am too late answering this, but I would personally love to see a "fight" pose where they put their fists up like they are professional fighters. I think the parents would get a kick out of it for a "fun" pose.

Just let them be themselves. Let the magic unfold.

Works like a charm, really. [;

Thanks for the comments everyone. The shoot went well, just had to be a little creative. I have preview shots up on my zenfolio page, editing the rest of the shoot now.

Nerdism, you are correct...my favorite shot of the day came when I was changing lenses, I look up and the sister had her elbow propped up on her brother's shoulder. Presto, perfect sibling pose.
