Found this neat little utility to recover the extra pixels that the sensor records but don't get output when converting the RAW. On my 20D, it says it recovered 84.3k more pixels. Looks like it may be helpful on the rare occasion that I need just a few more pixels on one of the dimensions. It would be interesting to see what it is able to recover on the various cameras.

Interesting! It could be handy if you just miss framing the image properly, you get back a tiny amount of the image.

I tried it on my G3 RAW files and it came up with 104k extra pixels. It made a much larger difference to the image area than on my 20D. (4MP vs 8MP)

Tried it last night and it was very interesting.
Got about 12 pixels added to edge on one side and 10 on the other (did not actually count), could not see bottom and top due to consistancy of background on that image.

Worked very well, but forced a DNG conversion first (not a big deal). Did not see any loss of information, but admit the particular photo I used was not the best test subject. I was more curious about if it worked and how much it would add.

I can see occasional uses when I just barely missed something by a smidgin.

For free it is an excellent and outstanding tool. Hope they incorporate it into PS in the future.
