What about doing something like this so you can get both your name and website in. Text/Side/Font up to you.

These are some good suggestions. That's a good idea drake, I also looked at your site and like your pics. I have a lot of things and ideas from this thread to toss around, and plenty of time to make a decision as I continue to improve.

I personally like the "clear" embossed watermark best, but yesterday I took the advice of some and used the white with black line. For now it's a far improvement over the other. I also changed my domain to the abbymalonephotography.com and made a few other changes. I think it looks a lot better and really appreciate the responses thus far.

I still like the suggestion regarding the use of "studio" but could not think of a name for that that had an available web domain as well. I'll put more thought into that over the next few months. I def see the point on that regarding upper class clients. On that note, can anyone recommend any books or products that focus on attracting upper class clients. I have spent a drastic amount of time learning this "specialized knowledge" for my other business in terms of marketing to the affluent, etc, but prior to doing any thing more with this (if I do) I will have to learn some of these specifics, such as that which was mentioned about using the word "studio" over something else and it's affect on upper class clients. I'm sure there are people who focus on educating in this niche and I'd like to learn about that ahead of time.

Right now I will not use the word studio b/c 1: I'm not advertising services and 2: I dont have one yet :)

Whew, I have a lot of work ahead of me :)

If you really want it to look like hand writing...do it on a tablet. You can directly trace your own handwriting to an editable image. I think it's way more personal and not so like someone mentioned "vegas wedding"

You can write is on paper and scan it, then convert it in photoshot a few different ways, but I'm sure you can post up in your regional thread and thee will be plenty of people happy to help you with it in your area.

the easiest way i find to produce your own handwriting as an editable image is the following, i also use this method at work almost daily albeit not handwritting usually drawings of cartoons or something.

1) Write whatever you want on a peice of paper

2) scan the image in as black and white on a scanner at 600dpi

3) open the file in Adobe Illustrator

4) select the object then go to Object > Live Trace > Tracing Options.

once your in the options menu at the bottom make sure ''Raster'' is set to no image and ''Vector'' is set to tracing with outlines.

it might sound slong winded but it seriously takes no more than 40 seconds, the only difficult part is getting the line widths/depths how you like it but again its just sliders and theres a preview button. if you dont have access to illustrator im happy to trace it for you if you want, shouldnt take a minute, not only that it will save you an extortionate cost from a designer, unless ofcourse you get a few other bits done with him/her too.

doing it this way your signature can be as large or as small without loosing qaulity, while photoshop is great for anything illustrated/traced etc its best to stay away from it.
