Well I tested the TC today. it seems to degrade my image A LOT! I don't know what it is. Here are two images. I cropped them in, You can tell immediately the difference. It just seems that it never wanted to focus. I never thought the IQ would ever be effected that bad.

has anyone else found these same results?

Here is 500 W/O TC

I got the Kenko 1.4 teleconverter today. The focus does hunt a lot, and it would not focus at all in low light. In bright daylight it worked great, up to F/11 on my Tamron 70-300 f/4-5.6. I have not checked the IQ yet, will do it later and report.

After using the 150-500 for a few weeks I was never really that happy with it. It performed well in some situations. And very poor in others. Like football, I have photographed my little cousins pee wee football for the last two weeks. I felt the images that focused were good. But missed too many because of OOF.

So I made the switch today, sold the 150-500 and bought the 400 5.6 L I know that it's essentially the same thing as the 100-400, but for birds and sports the AF would be faster and higher IQ. Once I get the 400 I will post a few images

The teleconverter went back to the store. Almost unusable even in daytime but in the shadows. It just would not focus.
