First time I have been to any kind of persian event, they are extremely fun people and know how to party. 70 people inside a living room and kitchen was pretty cramped and hot but it was fun...

First thing that struck me with these photos were: Lighting, sharpness, color - all great.

Mind if I ask what camera/lens combo you used? And how much post work you did? Doesn't seem like you had to do a lot in post which is why I'm interested in what lens you used!

I'm gonna guess it was the 24-105? Bounced flash off the ceiling? Do I win a prize if I'm right?

WARNING!: Before commenting that my color correction is horrible, please keep in mind that I am colorblind, and that hasn't stopped me from trying.

LOL, you pretty much guessed it, 24-105 with 580 EX II bounced from the ceiling. I used the 85mm 1.8 for the first shot, didn't get to use it as much because it was too tight... Not much post was done, other than a bit of noise reduction and some sharpening in lightroom...

Quite a good set. I've done similar shoots and know how tough they can be.

A couple of suggestions: 1) when you're bouncing and you have people in the foreground who aren't the main subjects (and their backs are to you), a bit of a vignette can help put the light where you want it: in the center (I'm referring mainly to photo 2).
2) Some of the shots seem over exposed to me because although I'm a super pale Canadian boy, some of the folks in the shots look whiter than I am, and that really can't be possible ! There may be a cultural preference for lighter skin and lighter skin in photos--I have no idea. But I just thought I'd point this out.

careful with the girl in the red dress... the saturation appears to be too much and you're losing some detail in the dress. great shots though!
