Found this creature(s) on a Queen Anne's Lace. It was about 1/4 inch long and is, as you can see, very well-camouflaged. I'm not sure if this represents one or two caterpillars. In the second photo I've added arrows to point out what appear to be antennae? The last photo is a closer look at what I believe is the head end, but I could be wrong.

What a wild find you got there. I'm going to start paying more attention to the Queen Anne's Lace in my area!

Dunno what it is, but it sure is interesting.

Queen Anne's Lace has been one of my most prolific hosts this year. I might not have spotted it, or recognized it as a living being, if it hadn't moved. I actually second guessed myself a couple of times thinking it was just a piece of vegetation. I'll let you know if I come up with any ID information outside this forum.

Mystery solved. An entomologist friend of mine IDd it as synchlora aerata, AKA, the Camouflaged Looper, the caterpillar of the wavy-lined emerald moth. It attaches plant parts to itself for camouflage!! Nature...gotta love it!
