DuaneN Cream of the Crop More info | Aug 13, 2012 18:57 | #2 Looks like a Coopers or Sharp-shinned...not a juvi because the eyes are yellow. I know the adults of both the Sharpie and Coopers have red eyes and the first year birds have blueish.

DuaneN Cream of the Crop More info | I photographed a first year Coopers Hawk (blue eyes) in my yard last Saturday and it has some white on the back of it's head. Not as pronounced as your Hawk but i'ts starting to show in my images.

A Juvenile Northern Goshawk would usually show a strong supercillium. Better looks at the tail would clinch it for sure. Regards,
