Canon seems to have decided that PowerShot users need to have folders created at least every month. The only work-around I've found is to, first of the month, every month, go in and change the existing folder to "100___08" from "100___07" (or whatever the current and last months were). Jon

I dont think there is a way around it. A small price to pay for such a versatile camera though..

With a card reader on your computer, I'm afraid. neimad19 wrote in post #14856873 Yeah it is irritating, You just have to be on the ball every month to import the images and delete the old folders. Just rename the old one before using the camera. Once you've got the new folder, however, you will need to move the files into the old folder, delete the new (and now empty) folder, and do a one-time reset numbering in the camera. Jon
