I'm in California right now and the wedding will be in the Philippines during my vacation. Sending back the lens from Philippines will be more expensive..

Wow, Philippines... no wonder. You can have nice gigantic weddings, 10 dead pigs, every single detail decorated, etc all for $5000-$10000 max. They can't hire a pro photographer from there? In my experience there, anything that requires labor becomes really cheap. Yes the photographers need expensive gear, but if they want business in a 3rd world country, they'll charge really low prices. I've had relatives throw weddings there and the photographers never charged more than $500 and they were really good.

Gear List (5D3, 70-200 f2.8L IS II, Sigma 85mm f1.4, Sigma 35mm f1.4, 50 f1.8, 24-105L, Alien Bee lights, etc etc)

I think things have moved on a bit from that. :D Have you seen some of the photos coming out of the photographers from the Philippines?

I had 3 relatives get married this year already in the philippines... the photographers there BLEW MY MIND with the shots they got. They still got paid dirt cheap for the amazing work they did though.

If you charge the people there like how you charge here, no one will hire you.

consider yourselves lucky you're here guyz. On the other hand, do not underestimate the creativity of the photographers there.

You've got the 17-50. That should work great. 50mm and 100mm primes, too. I think you will be covered. Just change lenses when needed and don't worry too much.

Thank you for giving me confidence. I replaced my 100mm macro with 85mm f/1.8. 100 too long and the 85 is more faster in focusing.

Returned the 50mm for the Canon EF28mm f/1.8 so i have a wider low light lens.

The 17-50 will cover the formal group shots. thanks.

for the details, i have extension tubes.

thanks again.
