What happens when a Nikon shooter meets a Canon shooting free lance photographer for Nat. Geo. atop a 11,100 ft. pass between Yosemite NP and Inyo Nat. Forest?
Why they exchange straps of course!

Long story short.
Mac Ruiz (external link), the Canon shooter, was telling us about a Photography Author he knew that had Canon straps on his Nikon gear and Nikon straps on his Canon gear.

Mac mentioned he had always wanted to trade straps with a Nikon shooter just because he thought it would be cool to do as his author friend had done.

When Michael (external link) said "I'm game", it was on!

What better reason would you need?

When you are already carrying a 30D and a 24-105L on a backpacking trip, a flash is a bit over-the-top. Granted, I could have used the pop-up flash, but the minimal amount of oxygen at 11K ft. had fogged my brain. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Great story! I've only heard of this once before among photogs. Saw it in the Olympics last week though!
