Not the OP's camera, I'm guessing we will have to wait until the OP can get some more sample shots to post here :)

I was shooting in Manual mode, and still, the colors are washed out,
>>

there is no contrast also.

Being in manual mode doesn't guarantee the exposures are correct. We can't tell if that is the problem without seeing images though. So, if your friend wants help, get them to let you post some samples.

Have you tried the obvious and turned the contrast and saturation up?

Oh, what was the light like? If you are shooting on a dull day, you will get dull shots as the lighting is very flat and lacking in contrast.

Hmmm, guys I got a 7d, had a 5d mark II, I know about the presets and all.Thanks.

It's really just a weird thing that it's so flat, anyway I will try to get the camera for another shoot out session before she sell's it or bring's it back to Canon.

You know, the're could be a defect in the sensor, or something could have gone wrong, it's not ''always the user''.....sometimes camera have defects, sometimes.......there is a lemon.

@OP - I am not familiar with that cameras controls. Like you, I have a 7D ... and a 1D MK III. Maybe it would be good to reset the camera back to the original settings like it came from the factory. The owner might think it is set like the factory shipped it, but who knows. Just a thought.

Good luck. I bet you figure it out.

When you get a chance, pick a picture style other than "Neutral", "Faithful", or "Monochrome"(like maybr "Landscape") and bump the contrast and saturation up a couple of notches, then shoot some pics and see what happens.

Yes I know, but usually it's still good at ''faithful'' settings.
Landscape does a great job at adding vibrance.
Monochrome, it's usually not a option for me.....
but thanks

I'm also guessing it's the choice of picture styles, I always shoot in RAW

Since your ability to post an image with EXIF seems hampered I would suggest you do the following.

1. Set the camera to "A" and adjust for a reasonable aperature that yields a decent shutter speed. Do this in daylight and then take a picture.

2. Go into the menu and scroll right to the 8th menu option (3rd wrench). Go down to "Clear settings", press "Set".

3. Go down to the next option "Clear all Custom Func." and press set again.

4. Exit the menu and take another picture under similar condition as that acquired previously.

Examine the EXIF information of both images and see what changed. That will be a clue as to the most likely cause.
