I'm ready to start printing several 4X6 prints, and I've figured out how to properly resize and crop my images in PS. Now I'd like to double-check my PS printing settings to make sure I'm on the right track.

I'm set to North American Prepress 2.

Under Print with Preview, I have the following settings:
Color Management
Document (Profile: Adobe RGB)
Color Handling: Let Photoshop Determine Colors
Printer Profile: (I made sure this is the correct profile for my printer & paper)
Rendering Intent: Perceptual (and black point compensation checked)

Is there anything you'd recommend changing? Oh yeah, what the heck does "show bounding box" mean?

Why don't you just print it and then ask questions if there is anything you don't like about how it looks.

I did. Everything looks good except that the colors are noticably brighter than they were onscreen. And yes, my monitor is callibrated with a Spyder2. If someone can confirm that these settings are correct, I'll know to begin tinkering in the printer properties dialogue instead of messing with PS settings.

In my very limited knowledge of such things have you tried Relative Colourmetric instead of Perceptual.
You also have not mentioned the make of either printer or paper which may help those more knowledgeable.

Somewhere I read that I should use Perceptual. I guess that is why I posted this - to find out what settings others are using.

Consider this thread closed. I found the answers to all my questions in a book. I was looking for a chapter on printing that didn't exist - instead the material on printing was burried in another chapter. I'm all set now.

Just curious, I find relative colormetric to give the closet print to screen output. Is this what you are using? Please share your new settings?

Thanks

Based on the recommendation of Scott Kelby and others, I am using Perceptual. Basically, I confirmed that the settings described in my original post were correct.
