Curious how many shots from your second shooter on average you might normally present to the client.

On a semi related subject - would you normally feature your second shooters images on your commercial website and/or facebook.

I recently second shot a wedding (no fee) and am perhaps a touch surprised at how many of my images are on display (around 40%), and perhaps a little about how they are being presented. I am not so much complaining (it is not a bad thing - would be disappointing if none were shown). I remain appreciative of the opportunity to shoot and hope the positive reception might be reflected in a reasonable fee in the future. It was a good experience though and I am happy with how it all went.

I am not a big fan of his PP work of the shots - I personally prefer a little brighter and a hint softer - but that is his look.

Any other second shooters with "surprises"?

I'd say second shooter images (my husband or anyone else) account for maybe 15% of the finished shots? I will use them in a full blog post, but I credit the shooter. No, I would not post them on Facebook or in my portfolio on my website.

I am super cool n' stuff.

My second shooters are pretty good at editing themselves; I typically provide nearly all of them; all but those that are truly duplicative of my own photos.

And I NEVER put a second shooter's work in a gallery on my site. I want to be able to say that without exception, when someone views my gallery, they are viewing my personal work.

I don't use them for my website galleries, but I use them on my blog all the time. I don't credit the shooter on the blog, they are working for my company and it's my company that's taking all the photos. I could care less if it was me or someone else who took the photo, if I want to post it I do.

It makes me smile when I see a photo I've taken, on Lloyd's blog.

I use photos taken by second shooters on my blog. I also try to give them a shout out, especially if I have a working relationship with (i.e. They second shoot for me, I second shoot for them)

I wouldn't use them in my official portfolio gallery on my website though.

That is my feeling when I second shoot for someone, and how I treat it when someone second shoots for me. I always take it as a point of pride if my images show up on the blog - it means I am doing something right.

True.

I second shoot for the same photographer. It's very rare that I second shoot for anyone else. In the beginning he gave me a shout out with a link to my website, but because I second shoot for him so much, he now treats me like an associate shooter now. So no shout out any more. Just a mention that I was one of the photographers. I don't have an issue with that since he pays me extremely well. But honestly, I've gotten used to him using my photos in his blog, it doesn't even excite me anymore.

He second shot for me last weekend, which is very rare since he's usually always booked. I gave him a proper shout out with link to his website. Just playing the politics correctly, at least in my mind! :)

I get thrilled when I see my 2nd shooter shots in the "teaser" album my boss puts up for the client. Means I'm doing something right. He credits me, and I do really like how he edits the shots(we have similar processing styles) And he lets me use my shots for my own personal portfolio.

I recently second shot with a photographer I really admire, and it was great to see how many of my shots ended up in the online gallery and FB album. Without a contract stating otherwise, the photographer you shoot for owns the images you take, and can do what they like with them.
