I enter photos in a local fair and every year they have a theme category, and this year it is "Inside Out"

What are some ideas that come to mind? I am trying to get inspired, and I have some ideas...

I was thinking of maybe shooting someone doing something they should be doing in a house, in the great outdoors

Any thoughts?

The first thing that came to my mind was a literal translation of the theme. For example, this summer I decided to bring my entire living room out to my front yard and have happy hour for the neighbors out there. I brought my couch, coffee tables, lamp etc. and I'd hardly had my martini flag out for 10 minutes when the neighbors started showing up and we partied on the front lawn till 1 am. I thought at the time that it would have made a good photo, because while decorators always talk about bringing the "outside IN"....I brought the INSIDE out.

YES! This is what I was thinking about doing. Maybe not until the full extent (as I am still living at home) but brining out a small set-up!

I was thinking of a multi exposure shot from inside something really cool (barn, ruin, fort or similar) looking out over an equally interesting outside scene.

I do like the shots you captured of your sister in the barn come to think of it. I would think one of those might be worthy of consideration also - https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1216094

My first thoughts...

View from inside a vehicle looking out, especially if it was an unusual view most people don't normally see such as from a piece of heavy equipment, ambulance, or fire truck.

View from inside a gopher or mole hole looking out, or from a birdhouse with nest in foreground looking out, with a view of a mansion or manicured lawn.

View from inside a piece of machinery or equipment

View from inside the refrigerator or oven looking out
