Say I'm editing a photo in Photoshop and want to save it for printing later by anothe software package. What format (eg. .bmp, .jpg, etc.) should I save it to in order to get the best quality picture?

I use PSD myself, since I don't plan to use any other software and many programs can read PSD anyway. Professional wedding photographer, solution architect and general technical guy with multiple Amazon Web Services certifications.

I use PSD myself, since I don't plan to use any other software and many programs can read PSD anyway. I don't save to a psd & just rewrite to the original tiff to avoid two big files on my hard drive when just one will do. FrankC - 20D, RAW, Manual everything...
