Opinions on using Live View for concert/play photography

i've used it a couple of times when i had to hold my camera over people's heads or something. i have been to a couple very quiet acoustic shows where i was apprehensive about the noise of my shutter being distracting and didn't take a lot of shots. live view might mitigate the noise a bit.

I use it sometimes when holding my camera over my head or some weird angle. Usually I use the live view to frame the shot, then turn it off before I take the photo so I can go back using the regular AF. That of course has been set to the right field before I lift up the camera.

Live view imo is way too slow to focus and yup, holding above your head is very awkward
