Blue cast in photos

I am getting blue cast in my photos taken even in bright sunlight with my 10D. I understand custom white balance can help, but apart from this is there any other setting like that I can play around with to fix this? Will color temperature setting help solve this problem?

Are your prints blue, or are you just viewing them on the screen? Is your monitor calibrated? You have to figure out whether your images actually have a blue cast, or it's your viewing medium that needs correction.

With your camera (and most Canon cameras), outside shots in sunlight should use the "Daylight" WB setting.

During post processing, any corrective steps will depend on whether it is RAW or JPG needing correction. Assuming that it is JPG, use Image->Adjustment -> Color Balance.

If it is RAW, then use the color temperature and Tint controls to adjust.

All this seems rather obvious, so I take it for granted that there is some more fundamental problem.

It sounds like you have the White balance set to the wrong setting. Us auto or daylight/sunlight. Look in your manual under white balance

I've found to use AWB everytime except using a flash since the flash will give a constant light temperature. Using daylight WB will use a constant temperature and I've often found shots coming out too warm because of it. AWB gets it right most of the time. Anything else can be adjusted during RAW conversion or adjusting levels afterwards.
