sigma 150-500 compatibility with 40D

Hello folks,
I'm looking at pulling the trigger on the siggy but recently I read a review that stated this lens had an adverse effect on the continuous shooting rate of the 40D.
Has anyone ever encountered this problem with this body/lens combination?

I honestly can't answer that question but I shoot mine with a 60D and it's fine.

can you elaborate exactly what the "continuous shooting rate of the 40D" means? Too fast, too slow?

I use my sigma on the 7D with 8fps and don't have any issues in terms of burst rate.

I used one with a 50d with no problem.

If it matters, no issues on an XTi, 20D, or 7D.

I'm having troubles imagining how a lens can affect burst speed... unless the AF is playing around badly between shots, or something.

Yep, use it without issue on my 40D.

90% of the shooting I did with the 150-500mm that I had was with a 40D, never had a single issue.

i've only used it on my 40D...no problem with compatibility...go get it...

Thanks everyone for your replies. In this review [dated 2008], the writer said it slowed the shooting rate to about three shots a second. I'm thinking he might have tested a defective unit or maybe being an early one it may have had some glitches that have since been rectified.
Guess I'll go ahead and pull the trigger because I can't justify the 100-400's price hike and the IQ results of the siggy seem quite close.
