Here's a few of the shots I got at my daughter's Cross Country time trials last weekend. It was a foggy, overcast morning so had to go with high ISO and everything was a little grainy, but not too bad. I was using a pair of new to me 450D's, an 18-55 IS, and a 75-300 IS.

edit to add: The photos as they appear in this thread look (to me anyway) a little soft. The originals, both on my computer and as they appear on the team's website are nice and crisp - does this have something to do with Photobucket?

yes, they appear "soft" and the colors look off but it may have more to do with the settings or the lens than with photobucket. My photobucket pics are sharp when linked

I can look at the exact same photo from my hard drive and it's fine, there's a definite difference between that and how it's displayed in this thread. I'll have to see if I can figure that out.

As for the colors, which photo do you think is off? I did notice that the track looks darker the lower my shooting position, must have something to do with the surface texture. The kids skin tone, I think, is good (there's another runner I didn't include in these who's quite pale and his photo looked like a good representatin).

I don't think it's photobucket. The colors look different, grainy and not too sharp (IMO)

Here is a pic taken with an XSi (450D) and linked from www.photobucket.com (external link)
