Obviously the spring section isn't attached yet but will the hook latch onto a loop or is there another hard part that connects to the typical camera body mount? (which then the hook latches onto)

Part of why we rejected some much more trick, complicated QR systems was the fact that they all required some sort of specialty widget to be permanently attached to the camera. With the gate hook, you need nothing more than a low-profile split key on the camera to clip into. At the same time, you can still hook onto larger items (like the D-ring on our membrane connectors). This gives us the ability to sort of future-proof our products and not be limited in attachment options. We can also offer specialty connectors for funky cameras and niche applications.

We have also developed our own triangle split key (like the ones Nikon ships on their pro-cameras). Unlike the Nikon version, ours is self centering and works on both lugs (like Nikon and Leica) and Canon brackets.

The kit will ship with 2 hooks, 2 triangle split keys and 2 standard round split-keys. As such, it will adapt to nearly any camera - and the hooks work on any camera with 10mm or 3/8" webbing connectors (factory straps, UpStraps, Domkes, Crumplers and the like).

How soon are you hoping to be able to start selling these? Or is that still too far away to be sure?

We are hoping to have them officially announced and for sale within a couple of weeks, with deliveries beginning pretty soon after.

We are also nearly out of Cinches. When they go out of stock, we will be out of stock for a couple of weeks as we switch to a different manufacturer and make some product tweaks for the holiday season.

Can we get on a pre-order list? I want a QD kit for my Cinch and I don't want to wait if I miss the initial run. I'm sure others in this thread feel the same way.

Did I order mine too soon?? Darn! I do remember you saying you were not satisfied with the current manuafacturer, as they started making a lot of mistakes; using wrong webbing etc.

Can I trade mine it if I like the new design better? LOL JK :)

I do want the QD!!!!

My Cinch model wasn't sure which shot she wanted posted, so the phone pic had to work.

I'm in a market to buy a new strap, I like the concept of the cinch but is the cinch just as comfortable as the crumpler industry disgrace? and how does it handle (slip resistant?) if the strap is over one shoulder and not across the body? btw my traps has an arch and worry it might slip down.
