I am still using my Cinch Classic. ;) I am looking forward to the innovations Greg and the Luma team will come up with in the near and distant future. I like the way they think and put their thoughts into action. I think we'll see reduced development times as their business grows and they are able to bring some things in house like the CNC machine.

The Honeycomb is now the standard grip for the Cinch.

It is a bit less grippy than the Block Pattern we initially launched with and the Block grip will remain in the line as an accessory for folks who are using the Cinch with lighter cameras and nylon outerwear (those fabrics are very slippery, so more grip is a good thing).

Don't forget, the Cinch is totally modular, there is no need to trade in your whole strap. We are working on figuring out how to make the Honeycomb available to those who bought pre-release Cinches.

Great news. I flipped mine and it works ok, but I'm real interested in getting the Honeycomb version.

I have the pre-release as well. I was referring to the pics of the honeycomb posted. I am wondering about Greg's statement though. ;)

Anyone who wants to swap out their current shoulder pad for a Honeycomb, shoot me a PM with your Cinch order number. Email will get lost in my (disorganized) inbox.

Has anyone here been using their Cinch with a really long lens like the 100-400 fully extended with a hood on?

I generally wear my camera with a shorter lens (like the 17-55 or even a 70-200 F4) in the small of my back, a few inches to the right of my spine but not quite all the way to the side. This keeps the camera and the lens close to the body and pretty much immobile. It is very stable and comfortable and it stays out of the way of my arm swinging when I walk.

With the 100-400 extended, the bottom of the lens and the hood extends almost all the way down to the bottom of my butt and this causes the whole thing to bounce when I walk. I have been forced to move it over to the side but then it interferes more with my arm movement when walking. Not the end of the world, but I need to play around with the positioning some more to find a location that is more rigid and without movement.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I often have my 70-300 on my camera when walking around, using the cinch. I do keep the lens retracted. I also keep my camera in back of me, away from my swinging arm. It just sort of nestles there.

I used the new Cinch the first two weeks in May on vacation and it worked terrific. I used the 100-400 but with no hood, but I've never been able to get it to sit right on my back. I have the strap connected to the top left of the camera when looking at the back and the other end is on the right strap lug on the bottom portion on the L-bracket. It hangs on my right front towards the side and seems pretty snug. I'd love to try it hanging on my back if I can figure out how to get it to do that.

Try connecting it to the right factory bracket and the right L-Plate bracket.

Connecting at the top Right and bottom Left, you get this triangle effect where the corner of the camera presses against you, so it never hangs right and gets super annoying. We've found that just connecting both ends of the Cinch to a single side of the camera works pretty well to fix this.
