Got mine in the mail today as well, thanks Greg!

To keep this thread on track, new Cinch honeycomb strap looks and feels great! An improvement over the pre-release version and the original Cinch.

ditto... It really makes it much easier to carry my 5dmk3 and 70-200mm around.

Greg, unprompted, sent me the honeycomb version of the strap. Thanks again for that! :)

While I haven't gotten it out on a shoot yet, I do like the honeycomb version better in my tests at home. Still, I have to wonder, as a previous poster also mentioned, wouldn't it be better without any kind of stickiness on the pad at all? It still hitches some for me.

For my uses, I want the pad to flip off my shoulder as easily as possible as I try to grab a fleeting shot. To me any surface quality which slows the strap movement down is a hindrance not a feature. I may even prefer a smooth surface which expedites the sliding movement. It seems like the weight of the camera with a snug adjustment of the strap would properly hold the camera in place when not being used.

I know I can flip the strap around backwards but I'm a visually motivated design loving guy and that just looks wrong to me.

I'll reiterate, despite this complaint, the Cinch is still my current favorite strap and I greatly appreciate the amazing customer service from Greg.

I guess one reason is that they won't want it to slide around all over the place when it's on you. Having the honeycomb design kind of gives the best of both worlds. Perhaps they'll release a non-gripped version in the future for purchase. I can see them doing that, customize any part of the strap you like. +1 on the nod to Greg as well, exceeded my expectations in terms of customer service.

They've talked about this some before. The sticky side is really geared towards people wearing heavier clothing, like most people would during the winter. It's all modular though, so it's really easy to take the strap off and put the non sticky side down (and with the new honeycomb design it's asthetically pleasing now as well).

The shoulder pad shouldn't always be sliding around, when it grips it's a lot easier to actually cinch up the strap and things of that nature.

Maybe it's just me, but the stock Cinch 2 strap works fine for me both with jackets (in Oregon) and in a T-shirt (in Maui). I like it the way it is. I wish there was a way to shorten the strap a bit more though. I've got it as short as it will get and the lens still hangs about 4 or 5 inches lower than I would like. I would really like the lens resting way up in the small of my back, whereas it hangs a bit lower closer to my butt right now.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

+1 on shorter strap (5"11 slim build). Will order if they stock a smaller strap plus the leather pulley tab :). I generally keep the current strap at one length closer to the body as I find that it gives me good balance of comfort and accessibility. If the strap was shorter I would use the adjustable length feature more as it was intended :).

Agreed. I love my Cinch 1 and Cinch 2. Both have been comfy during my usage and the rubbery grip has worked well so far. :)

My wife is 5'6" as well and the Cinch 2 is just a tad long on her. Her camera sort of rides on her hip while mine is at the small of my back.

I'm sure Greg will take note and there will be a Cinch "short" option in the near future.

Is there still a plan to have a Manfrotto plate available?

Yes. We are waiting on the machine shop at this point. They just got their ISO certification and are slammed with big-value medical and aerospace work right now. I've resorted to bribing them with bottles of expensive whiskey to speed things up
