Quick question for those of you who use the HyperDrive Colorspace UDMA for backup photo storage: In order to do just an incremental backup from a memory card (i.e. backing up only the new images on the card; not those previously backed up), is it necessary to have created & selected a new folder on the memory card for the new images? (I assume that without doing so the Colorspace cannot differentiate between previously-backed up images & the new images).

Thank you for your help.

Try hitting them up on their Facebook page. I have gotten questions answered from them there before.

I always use a new folder for each set of photos at the end of each day. Just makes it easier to keep track of, and not to worry about whether the incremental backups worked or not.

For the first time on my last photo outing, I used two Hyperdrives to have double backups.

Dang, now THATS redundancy!

I say sell one and upgrade the other to a 512GB SSD drive! The likelihood of and SSD failing is way slim if its a good one and you dont have to worry about shock, etc! I have a Crucial M4 in mine.

That's exactly what I've been thinking. On an upcoming trip to Spain, I plan to create a folder in my 60D for each day's shooting. This will not only make backing up to the HyperDrve easier, but I can keep a record of my shooting locations day by day. Without doing so, I suspect that every cathedral & tapas bar will look the same.

I thought of that. By frankly I have not familiarized myself with either the hardware or the workflow to do it efficiently. However, at sometime in the future, I will plan to get on board.

Just carry around a GPS that can keep a log file and is set to the same time as your camera (including time zone). You can match the track files and photos either as you download to your computer (I use Downloader Pro from Breeze Systems, which also allows me to enter caption and keywords), or later (Breeze Browser Pro lets me do this). So you have a chance to do it over if it didn't work the first time. Downloader Pro will also automatically create new folders as you wish, including naming them based on combinations of date, camera, lens, frame numbers, or any number of other parameters you may want to use.

Or just sell one and use their OTG system to backup to another USB drive on the road.
