This retired Lieutenant Colonel is wearing his Army mess dress uniform.

At least with the first one, I'm not sure you want to sharpen human faces quite that much.

Thanks for your feedback and you're probably right. I shoot sports and usually need to apply a bit of sharpening for posts here. I might need to back off a bit for images like these. The WWII Vet is quite elderly and even with no sharpening his facial features, especially his eyes, are very pronounced. Problem with over sharp is that it give picture flat look because everything seem to be brought forward. Thanks TongChen -- That's the way I view sharpening but I appreciate technical feedback too. Sharpening is somewhat of a trade off where we look for that perfect balance but then the output becomes subjective. These folks posed but seemed to be a little more relaxed and casual than others.
