Here are a couple of pics from a Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) Christmas formal I took last weekend. All of the officers were retired and served in one or more wars.

The gentleman on the left is a WWII Veteran and he's wearing a uniform that he wore in 1947.

C&C always welcome and thanks for looking.

Jerry ~ Baseball is a game where only defensive players handle the ball and offensive players who hit successfully in only one third of their at bats are among the best in the sport.

I'll be interested to hear what others think, but it seems like they are a touch oversharpened. At least with the first one, I'm not sure you want to sharpen human faces quite that much.

Thanks for your feedback and you're probably right. I shoot sports and usually need to apply a bit of sharpening for posts here. I might need to back off a bit for images like these. I'll be interested to hear what others think too.

I also agree, looks slightly too sharpened (1st pic). A good way to do it is simply
use the 'Sharpen' filter and go to Edit->Fade Sharpen and set to aprx 50% or less.
Usually works out great for me though YMMV. Except for that minor part looks great !

Note: You can edit my photo just tell me how you did it ;)

Thanks Jonathan! That's two oversharpened votes. I hope you guys are looking at the faces of all three gents in that first pic. The WWII Vet is quite elderly and even with no sharpening his facial features, especially his eyes, are very pronounced.

I think you need oversharp photos online, especially in forum like this where some people go nuts over technicals. Problem with over sharp is that it give picture flat look because everything seem to be brought forward.

Thanks TongChen -- That's the way I view sharpening but I appreciate technical feedback too. Sharpening is somewhat of a trade off where we look for that perfect balance but then the output becomes subjective.

Thanks -- I do too. Most of the pics I got that night were way to posed for me. These folks posed but seemed to be a little more relaxed and casual than others.
