My daughter swims for a local club and has started to get pretty good. She's getting faster all the time and having a lot of fun. And having one of the worlds fastest women (Missy Franklin) in the sport as a local to us doesn't hurt her excitement for the sport either.

Danielle's back stroke take off.

Her hair is still dry in some places. Isn't 1/4000th of a sec. cool?

A focusing error maybe, but I like it!

I just love the focus ability of my 7D and its speed! At first glance I thought that last picture in this series was a total loss, but after looking at it again I was actually rather pleased with the out come.

Thanks for the kind words. You'll love your 7D!

If it doesn't already have the latest fireware update in it, you can go to Canon USA.com and download the V2.0 fireware. In video mode it finally allows you to manually control the audio input gain as well as several other cool functions that mostly pertain to taking stills. It just makes a great camera that much better.

That last one is definitely a keeper. Accidents are sometimes great.

I too am thinking about getting a 7D.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

Once I moved up to the 7D from my 40D, my keeper rate went right up as a direct result of the added cross type sensors and a overall better focusing system in general. And it shoots video extremely well and that aspect has earned me more than enough money to have paid off the camera and many of my lenses. Well that and the slider/dolly I built for it and all the other goodies that go into shooting video with one of these cameras. Networks like CBS Sports, NFL Network and others like using the 7D as a second camera or an art camera for cutaway shots.

Nice shots Chas! The first shot is pretty cool.. love the events written on her wrist. I Iove the second shot.... do show it to her coach. Your initial impression of the last shot was correct if you wanted a clean shot of her face.... water magic at 1/4000 is always interesting though. Splashing water stealing focus is an occupational hazard with swimming photography. Keep up the great work!
