as teh title says which combination should i go for and why?

my gut feeling is that i should go for two flex's as they act as both transcievers and recievers plus they have the pc cord too.
my question is why would anyone go for a mini +flex?

over here in the uk the prices are the same for both products(well only £5-£10 apart).

i want to use ettl off camera high sync or hyper sync speed flash on my 430ex2

The mini is about 1/4th the size of the flex. So it fits easier on the camera body if you just need a transmitter instead of a transceiver.

i went with all TT5 - size didn't matter - convenience was the deciding factor for me.

whenever I can, I use all TT5... the TT1 is nice in that its smaller, but the AA batteries of the TT5 are easier to manage (imo)

I have read - but not confirmed - that a TT1 has a lesser range than a TT5, because of the internal antenna vs flip external antenna...

Do you mean Canon ratios? If so, read this (external link). You'll need a Canon Master flash on top of your camera & TT5 as well.

You can check B&H (external link) for the price. Most good stores here will price match them. They know they kind of have to these days. Obviously, ask quietly, and see what happens.

Obviously, they're much cheaper over here in the US. You should note that they operate on a different frequency as the European ones and are not compatible with each other. It's also probably illegal to use the US versions over there.

Illegal? Really? Why is that? Why different frequencies as well?

I loved AC3 when I had it. Much better than using canon ratios.

Too expensive for what I was shooting. And I moved from 550ex flashes to AB/Einsteins on locations.
