Anyone recommend a decent wireless router? I currently have a 3 antenna Linksys WRVS4400N and it sucks. I can walk outside which is 17' from my router and completely lose the signal. My home is under 1000 sq ft, but the signal is crappy at best. I looked at CNet reviews and the ones that CNeT reviewers said were great, user all said they sucked. Somehow we can talk to the Mars rover, but cell phones and wireless routers don't work. I see conspiracy.

So does anyone have a recommendation? ?

I currently have 3 laptops, 1 desktop, 1 printer an XBox, 2 Roku's and 3 iPods that depend on Wireless.

I actually use the Xbox wired to avoid connectivity issues.

I would also enjoy being able to use my wireless outside. My lot is 30' x 127' which shouldn't pose a problem. I often will bring a laptop to my elderly neighbors home to share pictures or show her something on the internet. Her living room 20' from my router, but I get "0" connectivity.

You just using it for connection to the outside or within the house? For outside, the N150 will suffice; for connecting PCs within your house, may want to step up to the N300.

Why? Well I had multiple Linksys die on me; tried most other models with varying degrees of satisfaction, but Netgear is what I've got running both at home and at our vacation place. D-Link also worked OK for me, but with 802.11n around now an upgrade was in order.

I just replaced a netgear N750 with an ASUS RT-AC66U dual band Wireless AC1750 Gigabit Router. It is faster and has better range than the previous router.

I have a Linksys E4200 that works very well. However, I don't have much good to say about the D-Link DWA-552 wireless adapter I use in my PC. The Atheros drivers that D-Link provides are garbage and haven't been updated since 2010.

I bought The RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Router + DSL Modem DGND3300 from Netgear.

Its pretty overkill for what it needs to run in our small place. Runs 2x laptops, an iPad, 2 iPhones, 1 iPod, ps3. But I also plug in my 2tb USB3 external HD into the router, for file sharing/ save space around my laptop.

I also live on a 5acre property, and get a great connection in the house yard, and even near the boundary fence, it has a slow connection.

The TP-Link seems reliable enough here at home.

Definitely keep off Belkin... they give you a lifetime warranty but that doesn't compensate you for the trouble these things are eventually... (first router developed a mind of its own, got a replacement after some hassle which was faulty which was replaced by the same model that worked for a while and decided it wanted to do what it wanted to do... got the TP-link after that, works well so far :))

All good info. Moral of the story must be stay away from Linksys. (My brother is a service engineer for Cisco).

I have to agree that Linksys (since Cisco bought them) has gone down hill.

The tried and true: Linksys WRT54GL LINK (external link)
Ive owned and setup many (not because they went bad but because I moved) over the years and run DD-WRT on some. The one I have now covers my 3000+ sqft house and out to the street with great signal strength all around. Never had a problem streaming netflix to multiple devices (PS3, Oppo, Apple TV, etc) at the same time, nor any other issues in the ones I have setup at my grandparents or parents houses.

Netgear, any current model, should do.
