I have no primes only 24-70 2.8 and I am thinking a 50mm 1.2 would be ideal for the weddings I do?

Any thoughts?

Do you have a second body? If not, a second body will be where the money should spend. It is almost a must when shooting wedding.

IMO, you need a tele to cover your long range rather than a 50mm, since you already have that focal length with your 24-70 minus the large aperture.

I think the 50L would fit nicely with the gear you have.
I miss the 50L and hope to be able to purchases another this year.

IMO, a 50mm is too short for head and shoulders portraits on a full frame camera. IMO, also, you have all that you need in the way of portrait glass...
