Hi all. when you take a strangers picture of the opposite sex, does your other half get mad/jealous?

I was doing a 100 strangers portrait picture around london and i take a mixture of male and female subjects(im male)

Reason i ask is because i had a encounter with my missus! had to remove half of my pics i taken so far on my flickr(for this project) and now thinking i may just not bother with this project as i personally dont want to take pics of just men.

i wanted my project to have variety in it. males and females, teenagers to old people etc etc and if i an handicapped in only taking certain subjects then i may have to call it time on this project :(

there is no persuading the misses either. shes pissed and thats that really.

How does your other half accept you participating in taking pics of the opposite sex for whatever photography project you may be doing?

You probably should have figured that out ahead of time. ;) My wife is quite supportive of the photography hobby (there are a few lenses in my collection only because she insisted on them :) ) but she is adamantly against the idea of me shooting models. Female performers at shows is one thing, models and random women is another. You know what they say, "happy wife, happy life", so I keep her happy.

I learned the same lesson, Mendoza, on a trip to San Diego.

Yep, a lot of deleted photos.

That's the breaks. Just work around it and fight the battles that are important.

Thank you. bw!

My OH looked through my model portfolio and commented that I needed to shoot more blondes.

about 15 years ago when i was going thru my humongous big-butt photo phase - and only shooting photos of enormous butts art Disneyworld - she got a little worried i'd get caught by one of them and it would sit on me and kill me. she got over that fear pretty fast.

As long as I have a nice mix of male and female subjects, my fiancé doesn't mind much. I do a lot of street photography and candid type stuff. I've learned not to comment on the attractiveness of the people in the pictures. :D

Same here. Our drives or walks at times consist of talks about how she (random female) would look with certain looks/poses etc etc.. Almost a hobby in itself.

My wife pointed this one out to me (the one on the right in the bikini);

IMAGE: http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/rr224/Beefer518/Camera%20stuff/IMG_7835a.jpg

She married me knowing I love women, and she's ok with window shopping. She knows she's the hottest in my eyes, trusts me, and feels no threat. I also point out the guys to her, but that's always a fail, because I seriously can't figure out her type.

I think there are issues here that you need to discuss with your wife. She is obviously feeling insecure about herself, and threatened by those you photograph, no matter the circumstances.

If steroids are illegal for athletes, should PS be illegal for models?

As long as it is a paid shoot...hubby approves..... He doesn't tell me how to sell photography and I don't tell him how to sell cars...ok ...that second part isn't actually true since I use to sell cars...but ya... hubby approves.

^^^

I love the name of that city. I'd say it's one of the most beautiful names a city can have. It just rolls off the tongue.

All fun aside, Fairbanks was named after one of my ancestors, Charles Warren Fairbanks (vice president to Teddy Roosevelt). We never met. ;)

And I didn't inherit anything but the name, darn it.

Fairbanks is pretty far north, but not so north that you have to worry about that month in the winter when the vampires come to feed. That's gotta be tough, even by Alaska standards.

Thank you. bw!
