That was interesting but definitely too much of a "Canon is wonderful" promo video. Should have expected that, but thanks for sharing.

I like that they actually showed parts of the production floor and also the cell production style vs a factory line method.

... with all of that advanced technologies and QA, one wonders why they only offer a one-year warranty.

Is that on all EOS bodies, I thought it was just the 1D IV and this is from the Canon UK terms and conditions warranty page (external link)

1. Warranty period
This warranty is valid for one year from the original purchase date of the new product (three years in case of projectors), as evidenced by the above mentioned documents.

Whiteflyer,

Its a general EU consumer law. Interestingly the Canon warranties don't mention it (I wonder why he said, knowing full well why*), but they must comply and indeed do so.

*Note: I imagine they hope that if anyone does not realise this, then they may be able to benefit financially? Seems weird, but I'm not Canons financial or marketing mastermind.

Apple did just that, tried to make consumers in the EU pay for extra warranty beyond the basic 1 year.

And to think some car manufactures offer 10 year / 100,000 mile warranties!

Never seen it before, it was ok but I would have liked seeing a lot more of the production and actually work on the production line, but thanks for sharing ;->
