just got my G3 yesterday... It is a great camera to own and also to learn. I have been reading the thick manual since then, still finding new ways to access this awesome camera.... except for few doubts...

I was shooting the church park in Boston, the light condition is cloudy. After I half-click the buttom, there is a magenta cast to camera's lcd for less then a second. But it then turns back to the color of the scence. Was that normal? (happens only when composition includes sky....)

At night, I took out my camera for some night scence. When I tried to take some pic, there's white vertical line (glare?) shown where the street light is. However, the pic comes out alright.
p.s. in the video mode, the white vertical line will remain in the clip.

Does anyone have this problem with their G3?? Should I go back to the store and exchange for a new one?

Thanks a lot!!!

bc1321,

Have a read of the note on page 37 of the manual.

I have rexperienced this red color cast a few times, but not a white one. I do seem to recall reading another post mentioning a white one.

I think what you experiened is normal operation.

Bruce
