I took these the other night. The lighting was somewhat difficult. Comments please. Which one do you guys like? Shot with my 50mm 1.8 lens, 580EX and LSPJ.

I like the second one best. There's more clearance between the gent's face and her hair. It may be my monitor, but I'd double check your white balance. The photos seem a bit warm to me.

I like the second personally, and while the skin tones are much better in the seocond one, the bg color seems to have changed dramtically did you change the lighting? but great picture.

Thanks Mark, I'll check the WB.

Hybridwire, I got rid of the overhead lights in the second one.

Thanks for commenting.

I much prefer the 2nd one. Assuming you are the male in the scene, you got out from behind her hair in #2. But both seem to have a color cast to them. Have they been adjusted? And did the flash even fire?

You caught a pretty smile on a lovely lady.

Wow, 4 posts at the same time saying the same thing!

the second one is off centre and seems awkward. I'd really like the first one the best if the guys face didn't seem a bit soft. And the white balance looks off, as mentioned. These shots have the potential to be really good.

Thanks, Titus213. I adjusted them in PS Element3. Thats all I currently have. I checked and the flash did fire.

I had to come back and look again. I really like the composition and exposure on these. The light on her face is terrific (if off in color). She is a natural beauty and you've caught her very well.

If you look at the light in #1 the lady is lit from the left, her right. Or at least the light from that side is almost overpowering the flash. With the 50mm, camera on a tripod, ISO 800, the flash almost wasn't needed.

Thanks Dave. You nailed it with light being on her right side. I actually thought so as well and I turned that lamp off. I probably over did it by turning off the overheads as well. I was trying to get more of the lights from the tree.

Many thanks.

I like the second one the most in looking at the faces but the background lighting seems a little strange color. I don't know what that problem might be besides white balance perhaps.

Yours and her face is very sharp and the composition on the 2nd one is the best.
