She's lost the sight in one of her eyes and the other one is fading as well, but she still manages to chase down rabbits and squirrels on her walks. She was found wandering the streets, apparently used for breeding purposes and then cast aside.

She's got a few more good years in her yet. :)

I like treats...

Thanks - love the name of your little guy, it reminds me of when Jackie was younger and she'd twist while in the air jumping around. :)

Really neat pictures of a darling dog. The only think that IMO detracts from these images are the glowing wyes...

Thanks for your comments. The colour in her eyes is due to them filling up with some type of fluid, according to the vet. The resulting all white colour in her left eye is completely natural and appears on photos that don't use any type of flash as well. Her right eye is slowly losing its vision as well, which is why you see a lesser amount of "glow" if you will.

As for calling the eyes ugly..well, IMHO, it gives her more character and shows the stress of the hard life that she's led. What's even more amazing is her peripheral vision which enables her to pick up dogs and other assorted animals at a distance of about 200' and then proceeding to chase after them in the field...dog love! :)

I am sorry that I jumped to an erroneous conclusion. I have erased my comment.

Rescuing a dog is a wonderful thing to do. We had a blind rescue Maltese who could go anywhere on our property. We got him a set of goggles to prevent scratching his eyes among our prostrate rose bushes.
