Sent a lens into Sigma to get AF adjusted, and sent my 5Dc body in with it to be 'calibrated' to that body. Well just got it back today and the AF confirmation lights inside the viewfinder do not light up at all.
Any thoughts on what to do from here?
Thanks.

Did you check the cfn menu to make sure it hasn't been disabled?

Both good suggestions, but unfortunately, it's not in servo or AI mode, (It's in One-Shot) and the cfn. menu has been thoroughly checked.
I even have the multi-controller set to change focus points, and moving it around does not light anything up.
:(

Sorry to hear that. I sort of figured you had checked, but sometimes things slip through the cracks.

Why, oh why send a Canon body to Sigma?
Either a lens is calibrated to focus within it's specification, or it isn't - the body has nothing to do with it; if the body is out of specification then Sigma won't/can't do anything with it anyway.

True, but that's what they (Sigma) suggest in order to calibrate the lens to the body. Especially on bodies without Micro Adjustment features.
Guess it's off to Canon now, because Sigma may just be like "Well it was like that when it got to us". (Which it very well may have happened during shipping)
So it's really just a my word vs. theirs. Maybe I'll call Sigma and see what they say.
I was excited to see my camera arrive, but it's turned into a very sad day.

At least give Sigma a call and see what they say. What service center did you sent it to?

Before sending to Canon reset everything to defaults (see manual) and check that all Custom functions are reset as well. I personally would reflash the firmware as well as that step has been known to clear up a lot of strange events.

I would hope that Sigma would step up to the plate for this, its the least they can do Customer Service wise.

Ironically, Canon used to ask the same thing; I asked the person on the phone which of my three bodies they wanted to adjust the lens for and what would that do to the others. There was silence, so I suggested; "have the tech work really hard at getting the focus into the middle of the tolerance range, then I'll deal with the bodies."

That's the same request I make when I send a body in for cleaning and recalibration. "Set the focus to the middle of the spec.

I've noticed, with my 5DIIs that when they did the recalibration it did make the micro adjustments less severe. Also, the focus on two 5Dcs was a bit more precise.

Wonder if it helps that I'm a paying member of CPS? :-)

Either a lens is calibrated to focus within it's specification, or it isn't - the body has nothing to do with it; if the body is out of specification then Sigma won't/can't do anything with it anyway.

Adjustments aren't made in the body anyway, unless they're wildly out of spec.

Canon does the same thing - send a lens and body together to get the best possible calibration. Canon adjusts the lens.

Sigma can do the same, and it's more likely to be more accurate if they can test with the body the glass will be used on.

I just got done testing the lens I sent in to get adjusted- a Sigma 24 1.8 that I purchased third-hand, the seller telling me it had AF issues. (I got it for pretty much a bargain, but it was backfocusing pretty badly)
It seems now to be front focusing a tad on my 40D. Haven't tested it on the 5D I sent it with because I'm not sure of the focus point due to the light failure. I'm sure if my bodies had Microadjustment it would be perfect.
The good news out of this is that Sigma didn't charge me a dime. Sent it off August 9, got it back August 20.

This usually happens if the Super Impose Screen is put in back to front, although I'm not sure why Sigma would be doing anything in this area, unless they were adding some copper shims to the bottom of the pentaprism.

That may not be true, there are supposedly in-body mechanical adjustments that can be made on some bodies. Some folks have adjusted their 30D for example. Also, they can make configuration changes to the focus engine, but changing internal values that we don't have access to. MFA on the more recent bodies just exposes one part of what Canon can alter under the covers.
