Thanks for that. Another one to consider, but it doesn't look like there's an easy way to attach a tripod, which isn't necessarily a deal breaker, but is an important feature for me.

Good to know. Thanks again for the input.

There's a hide away pouch to catch the legs and compression strap to hold it snug.

Whoops, I was looking at the wrong Fastpack. That one solves that for sure. Thanks for clarifying.

Thanks Dan. Those look pretty nice. I guess now it's time to start finding user reviews of all these bags to see how they do out in the world.

i love the fastpack posted above. you might not get everything you need, but you could easily get a body w/ 70-200 + 2 more lenses in the main compartment. flashes might not fit in the main compartment, but you will def. fit them in the headphones pocket.

mine current fast pack is currently set to hold the following in the main compartment.
7D
5D2
24-105L
Sigma 24 1.4
480EXII
Super Clamp

then i keep my 580exII and misc accessories in the headphones pocket.

this bag can hold a ton, but the main compartment might not be ideal for the amount you want to carry.

I don't mind having stuff distributed between compartments, as my main goal is just to have quick access to the camera body and whatever lens is attached at the moment. Thanks for the feedback. It echoes most of the other reviews I've read so far.

this one on ebay seems pretty neat, you can have one or two or zero straps...

I have a Tamrac Evolution - very nice bag, can be configured as a backpack or sling pack, room for a laptop, quick access from both sides, comfortable to carry. Comes in a variety of sizes. I think it's worth a look.

That does indeed look like it has lots of nice features, but I'm wary of buying generic products from ebay. I'll see if maybe there's some feedback on the forums somewhere.

Thanks ceegee, that pack looks promising. Funny that the post above yours looks like a total knockoff of the Tamrac. Good enough to warrant a copy eh? Which size do you have, and how does it feel on your back when it's all loaded up? The reason I phrase it like that is because a lot of reviews I've been reading on these packs (side access style), is that they're built to hold more than is comfortable to carry around for extended periods of time.

I can only speak for the Kata 3n1-20. I have carried it (loaded, apart from the camera and wide lens on the tripod) around a city shoot for 3+ hours without even noticing it was there. That was in the 'cross chest' strap configuration, which I find is better for extended use (I don't know about anyone else, but I find I feel it where the straps pass over the shoulders first).

Cheers, Damien

Thanks for the feedback dodgy. That's the sort of user experience that I think is far more important than anything else. I didn't think there would end up being so many options. Now the hard part... deciding.

I should have one of the new Brenthaven BX2 backpacks within a few days. I will report back to this thread with my impressions.

I've owned many Brenthaven laptop bags and backpacks and they've never let me down. I'm hoping for good things with their camera bag line.

I ended up with clik elite pro-sport.
Actually I finally find out that one need two backpacks..
So far for biking, nothing can be better than pro-sport if you don't need to carry your laptop, just IMO :)

Looks interesting, but I wonder why they put the side access on the right side. Maybe Clik Elite's product designer is a southpaw.

So, I take back the whole right vs left side thing. I tossed my camera into a backpack with a full zipper and tried using both sides for grabbing the camera. Left side feels more natural, but then you have to switch the camera to the other hand in order to get your arm back in the backpack strap. With the right side, it's a little more awkward to grab it, but then it's easier to get your left arm in. Sort of a toss-up.

That one looks classy. Please do let us know how it works for you.
